This time it is the turn of big stonefly nymph, which in spring time can be very effective. This is not imitation with tail and legs made from biot or 3-parts windcase, this stonefly pattern is more mobile and can be used for stillwater of river fishing.
Something new for some may be to use the top layer of pheasant tail stem, which has an interesting slightly transparent and natural color.
Materials:
Hook: Fmfly 711 no. 6 or 8
Thread: UNI 8/0 rusty brown
Underbody: Veniard adhesive lead foil
Body: dubbing Hareline Hare’s Ear Plus Dubbin – rusty orange
Rib material: strip from pheasant tail
Wing case + tail: pheasant tail
Hackle: brown partridge

I like the pattern, but there is no mention of the rib material. Although it looks like more lead I doubt it is.It would be nice to know what it is.
